Indian economy is characterized by low rate of growth, dominance of rural population, heavy dependency on agriculture, adverse land mass ratio, highly skewed distribution of income and wealth beside, high incidence of poverty and unemployment. While ensuring the accessibility of such services does not constitute the sole panacea for economic growth, there are definite causal links between ensuring such increased access, growth and poverty reduction.

Linking the formal financial sector with poor microfinance clients seemed impossible even a decade ago. The last two factors poverty and unemployment pose major challenges to the growth and prosperity of the country. Against such improvements, the present study has been carried out to study of review literature in micronce sector.

Increased access to equity capital helped these mfis improve their capital adequacy, which, in turn, helped. To overcome this problem, some newly developed sectors like micro finance are playing a vital role. Microfinance has been considered a powerful tool to fight poverty through the provision of basic financial services including savings, insurance, credit and transfer of funds.
